Tour Description
:The entire south shore is excellent for snorkeling as the Sierra Madre Mountains extend directly into the ocean. One can literally pick a spot, hop off of the boat, and encounter a ton of small, tropical life feeding in the shallow waters. It must be noted that these secluded coves are accessible only by boat.
The road does not extend to the south side of the bay; therefore a boat is the only option to find this paradise.
The reef depth range is from 3-30 feet and the surface of the water is rarely choppy; therefore, one can expect respectable visibility between 15-50 feet year round.
Water temperatures range from 79°-86° F from May to December, and 70° - 78° F from January to April.
Our favorite boats to service Los Arcos are La Fiesta a 40 ft Catamaran or Velox a 33 ft Catamaran, these boats were specially designed to facilitate scuba diving and snorkeling activities enhancing superb stability and comfort. Both vessels are set up with bathroom facilities, totally carpeted and 85% shaded, all safety regulations including Oxygen, first aid kit, life jackets, radio and on-board insurance.
This tour is available Wednesday & Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Departs from the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta at 8:30 AM the Paradise Marina in Nuevo Vallarta at 8:00 AM. (Please note that after this tour all passengers will be dropped off on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta.)
If you are accompanying a scuba diver to Majahuitas this is the trip you want! Scuba Divers and Snorkelers go out on the same boat trip!

FAQ:
Q: Is the visibility good?
A: The visibility is great. You will always have the opportuntiy to see a variety of tropical fish at Majahuitas Coves. On rare occassions the crew may change the snorkeling area due to increased jelly fish in the water. This will happen when and if your safey and health are at risk.
Q: What is the difference between this snorkeling tour and other snorkeling tours?
A: Majahuitas Snorkeling is more focused on snorkeling. This is not a booze cruise. It is a wonderful opportunity to snorkel at a great location and visit a beautiful remote beach. Our main objective is to enjoy a nice bay cruise on the way to our snorkeling location.
For those individuals who experience sea sickness we recommend taking a Bonine or Dramamine 1 hour before the tour.
