“The Mining Town of New Spain” San Sebastian’s remote location and historical appeal has made this town a great sightseeing destination. Originally discovered in the late 1500s and settled in 1603, the towns mining operation attracted a population of over 30,000 by the 1800s. Today San Sebastian has about 600 residents and still retains all it’s charm of a village locked in time, with an old church, a coffee plantation, and an underground tunnel system.
Located in the Sierra Madre Mountains “La Bufa” is a picturesque village. Everything about San Sebastian will delight your senses, especially the beautifully preserved rustic homes. These homes are built with natural materials local to the area like adobe, wood and tile roofs which represent the area and reflect the hospitality of the people.
We invite you to come enjoy a town with historical and cultural values!
This tour is available Tuesdays & Thursdays
