The haunting ruin of the Colonial Era fort overlooking San Blas is a vivid reminder of the vast reach of what once was the Spanish Empire. The town itself gives an idea of what life is like in an unspoiled Mexican village. La Tovara, one of the country’s largest protected estuaries, teems with colorful flora and fauna.
This tour operates from 8:30 AM to approximately 6:00 PM. Our destination is the port of San Blas, passing by different small villages that provide fresh produce and seafood to our town.
We’ll stop at San Pancho a small seaside town and continue on to San Blas a historical town that belonged to the Spaniards during their exploration. The fort of San Basilio is an excellent place to take photographs. From there we will head out to the ecological reserve known as La Tovara. We’ll explore the jungle in a small river boat where you will have an opportunity to see local wildlife and plants. Be sure to keep an eye out for fresh water fish, turtles, crocodiles, iguanas and many species of wetland birds as well as the beautiful orchids abound in the groves.
We’ll have a quick stop for lunch at a seaside restaurant on the way back to Puerto Vallarta.
Breakfast, Lunch (Fish Fillet & Shrimp) and boat ride are included in this excellent tour package!
This Tour is available Thursdays.
